She is founder of the Dental Assistants Study Club of St. Louis. She is the director of the Dental Careers Institute with five locations in the United States. Tija is also the author of six CE study courses. She is a national speaker and is a certified trainer in nitrous oxide in several states. Courtney is a 13+ year veteran of the dental field and in 2014 she earned the distinction of Fellow by the American Association of Dental Office Management (AADOM). She was a nominee for the 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018 Practice Administrator of the Year Award and AADOM has honored Courtney with the Practice Manager of Distinction Award 3 years in a row.

In 2016 Dental Product Reports named Courtney as one of the Top 25 Women in Dentistry and she is a member of the Speaking Consulting Network and AADOM’s Speaker/Consultant Alliance. Betsy Shapiro, DDS, JD, CAE and Tracy Hollenbach

Dr. Betsy Shapiro is the director of practice management resources and strategy at the American Dental Association’s Practice Institute.

After receiving her dental degree from the University of Illinois, Dr. Shapiro practiced general dentistry for 15 years in a rural Illinois community. Post-practice she returned to school and earned a juris doctorate from Northern Illinois University’s College of Law. From there she was fortunate enough to be awarded the Hillenbrand Fellowship with the ADA. Dr. Shapiro arrived at the ADA in September of 2011 for the one year fellowship, and has continued on there in the Practice Institute since that time.
